An expert on Victorian homes and architecture, Edmund V. Gillon, Jr., has produced this minutely detailed, architecturally authentic group of four Victorian houses in H-O scale. The four houses are distinct examples of some of the most popular Victorian styles.
Printed in full color on heavy card stock, these houses are ready for you to assemble. Included are: Italian-style Villa--with rectilinear stone-blocked sidewalls, off-center square tower, projecting eaves, balustraded balcony; Octagon--severe two-storied clapboard structure with windowed belvedere; Second Empire--vari-colored high mansard roof, ornate dormer windows, bay windows; Stick style--steep roof with diagonally braced veranda, accentuated wood frame, distinctly American in style. For each house there are two black and white photographs showing two different views. Captions give the number of pieces for each building, keys to the diagrams and special tips on exact assemblage.
Although the rich Victorian decoration necessitates a variety of pieces, the instructions, captions and large exploded diagrams provide easy to follow directions showing exactly what to cut, fold, glue, how to assemble steps, roofs, walls, etc. The few basic materials needed are listed. Two full-color photos of all four houses grouped together appear on the covers.
Miniaturists, model train builders, toy and architectural hobbyists and enthusiasts of Victoriana will enjoy these inexpensive, easy to build authentic Victorian houses.
