"The french "Char de bataille" B1 bis (B1 bis battle tank) was the heavy tank of the armoured divisions of Infantry at the begining of WWII. The B1 bis was designed to break-through into strong defensive entrenchments and was one of the heaviest and well protected tank of the period. It was greatly feared by enemy and more often took the better in direct meetings with German tanks. However, it was a very expensive tank which limited its production capacity and was misemployed in a defensive role ancillary to infantry instead of an offensive weapon it could have beeen. It also suffered from low range which limited its operational capabilities and its small one-man turret was one of its greatest flaws."
