The Ford 3-ton tank was officially known as the Three-Ton Special Gun Tractor.  It was designed around two Ford T engines with 9.4 hoursepower with a top speed of 8 miles per hour.

 

The tank was manned by a crew of two, consisting of a driver and a gunner.  Who was responsible for the operation of the single .30 caliber Marlin tank machine gun.

 

An initial run of 15 tanks were shipped to France for evaluations in early November, 1918.  Ford was awarded a contract for 15,000 more vehicles, but the order was cancelled when the war ended later that month.
