The Airspeed AS.51 also known as the Horsa Mk I was a British built World War II glider used to carry troops and equipment into the battle. Built by the Airspeed Ltd Company of Britain as well as other under contract, it was used by the British and Allied forces. Equipped with 28 seats for troops, it was also capable of carrying smaller vehicles or anti tank guns. The glider was named after the 5th century conqueror of Southern Britain.
