Among the oldest surviving building in Boston, the Paul Revere House attracts a multitude of visitors annually. Built around 1680, the house was owned by Revere from 1770 to 1800. On the evening of April 18, 1775, he left from there to begin his now famous midnight ride to warn the surrounding countryside of advancing British troops. Today, lovingly restored by the Paul Revere Memorial Association, it stands as one of the city's proudest monuments.
Now, with the help of a few simple tools, students as well as history enthusiasts and model builders can create an authentically detailed H-O scale model of the celebrated structure. Complete step-by-step instructions and diagrams show how to cut, fold and glue each numbered piece to create a sturdy three-dimensional building complete with casement and sash windows, chimneys, period gardens, a brick terrace, retaining wall and other features. A fact-filled introduction provides fascinating background information on the history of the house.
Measuring approcimately 12" by 14", including extensive grounds, the model is an exciting and challenging educational project for classroom or home use and an inexpensive way to bring American history to life.
